Meal Choices

Fresh Start meals are offered on either a weekly or termly basis.  Your school has chosen to arrange for weekly or termly ordering.  Please see below for further details.

 

Termly Ordering

We ask you to choose at least 1 meal, per week for the full term.  Meals can be chosen on any day of the week.  If you wish to add or change any meals you will need to contact Fresh Start on [email protected]

Meals will need to be ordered by midnight on the Tuesday before Term begins.  If you order after this you will be responsible for providing your child with an alternative until their meals begin.

All meals are to be paid termly, in advance, during the online ordering process.  The amount owing will be shown in your basket.  The total amount owing will be dependent on the number of meals chosen for the term.

On any given day that you have not ordered a meal with us but your child has been provided a meal by Fresh Start, you will be responsible for paying for each meal taken.  This is to be paid, in full, before the end of the relevant term.

 

Weekly Ordering

You are able to order meals with Fresh Start on a weekly basis OR for as many weeks you would like to order.  This can include the full term.

Meals will need to be ordered by midnight on the Tuesday the week before you wish your child to receive a meal.  If you order after this you will be responsible for providing your child with an alternative until their meals begin.

You are able to change or move meals within Meal Manager as long as this is done by midnight on the Tuesday the week before you wish the change to take place.

Confirming Meals

You need to confirm your meals for Fresh Start to be able to process the order. If you do not confirm your meals and they are still in your basket Fresh Start will not be responsible for providing a meal for your child.

 

School Trip Days and Packed Lunch Provision

We are usually informed of class trips by the school and will remove the meal choice you have chosen within Meal Manager by the Tuesday the week before the trip.

We offer a set packed lunch in place of a hot meal on school trip days.  You will be asked to set preferences in your Account Home within Meal Manager to specify if you would like to have a packed lunch and which sandwich your child would prefer. See FAQ for a list of items in your packed lunch. We do not supply a drink with our meals so you will need to supply this for your child.

If you have chosen to have a packed lunch with Fresh Start but do not use the packed lunch on the day you will not be entitled for a refund if you pay for your meals. If you choose not to have a packed lunch with fresh start you will be refunded for your meal after the event.

Please be aware: If you advise Fresh Start that you would like a packed lunch on school trip days we will onlyprovide this on the days that you have ordered a meal with us. If you have not ordered a meal with Fresh Start you will be responsible for providing your own packed lunch for the school trip.

There may be occasion when Fresh Start is unable to provide a packed lunch, for example, on days when the children will be leaving earlier than 9am. We will ensure that we will contact you before the trip takes place to advise you this is the case.
You are able to change your preferences within your home page but please be aware any changes made for school trips must take place by the Tuesday the week before the trip is to take place.  We would ask you to keep these preferences up to date to avoid wastage.

 

Allergies

We ask you to inform us of any allergies, intolerance’s or issues with food that your child may have. The main allergies are now included as a tick box within our Meal Manager.  There is also a Medical Allergy Form that we ask you to fill out and return back to us.

Fresh Start cannot be held responsible for any allergies if we have not been properly informed.

Cancelling a meal

You will inform us before midnight on the Tuesday immediately preceding the week that you wish the meal to be cancelled. We have provided an example below for your information.

If the date of the meal to be cancelled is Monday 12 September the date you must notify us by is Tuesday 6 September.

You must inform us in writing to [email protected] stating your child’s name, class, school and the date of the cancellation.  If you do not inform us of the cancelled meal, we will not be able to refund you.

 

Credit

Fresh Start are unable to offer credit for meals that have been cancelled, but can offer a refund if we have been given the correct notice (by the Tuesday the week before the meal is to be cancelled).  See refunds below.

 

Refunds

Refunds are available, providing the refund is requested within the term that the meal was originally due.  If a meal has not been cancelled within the correct notice period, we cannot offer a refund.

 

Missed Deadlines

In the unlikely event you miss the deadline set for ordering meals you will need to make alternative arrangements for your child’s lunch.
